Slow Menalon
Our signature walk · on foot
A walk along the certified Menalon Trail — Arcadia’s flagship path — from village to village through fir forest and gorge. One region, taken step by step.
- 3–4 days
- Menalon Trail, on foot
- Vytina · Dimitsana · the Lousios gorge
- Slow, fair, real
The idea
The Menalon Trail was Greece’s first Leading Quality Trail. It links stone villages, hanging monasteries and the Lousios gorge across the fir-covered slopes of Mount Menalon. This journey walks it the slow way — no transfers, no rush. You sleep where you stop, rest at the kafeneio, and let the trail set the pace.
The rhythm
- Day 1 · Arrive in VytinaSettle into the mountain town, an evening walk through the square and a first Arcadian table.
- Day 2 · Into the fir forestThe trail from Vytina toward Elati and Dimitsana — springs, old watermills and a village welcome at the end of the day.
- Day 3 · The Lousios gorgeThe trail’s dramatic heart: the hanging monasteries of Prodromou and Philosophou, the Water Power Museum and Ancient Gortys.
- Day 4 · Slow finishA gentle last section or a rest day in Dimitsana — the folklore of the gorge and a farewell table.
This is a rhythm, not a timetable. We match the stages to your legs and the season.
