On the eastern slopes of Parnon, in Agios Ioannis of Kynouria, the Banopoulos family keeps two doors open: La Villa de Madeleine, a traditional mansion guesthouse, and Terra TEA, the family’s taste project rooted in the same soil.
The setting does most of the talking: the Lepida waterfalls below the village, the springs of Agios Ioannis Prodromos, the walking path that stitches them together, and the Malevi Monastery a short drive up the mountain. This is Arcadia’s quieter east — chestnut and fir above, the Myrtoan Sea half an hour below.
It is exactly the kind of place the Parnon route of Arcadia Trails is being designed around: a village with a living square, a family with a story, and a table that tastes of where you are.
La Villa de Madeleine is part of the Arcadia Hospitality Network family — meet our members or explore village stays.
